Basic Profile
Founded in 1886 (12th Year of Emperor Guangxu, Qing Dynasty), Beijing Tongren Hospital is a large Grade A tertiary comprehensive hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University. It is world-renowned as a national leader in ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology (ENT), featuring a unique "One Hospital, Three Institutes" model integrating medical treatment, education, research, prevention, and international 
History
1886: Established as a small ophthalmic clinic by the American Methodist Episcopal Mission, named "Tongren" (meaning "treat all people equally with universal love").
1952: Merged with Beijing Maternal and Infant Hospital, renamed "Beijing Tongren Hospital".
1994: Officially named "Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University" and rated as a National Grade A Tertiary Hospital.
