《工程出版物索引》（PIE）和《出版物一览表（PL）》

 在《Ei》年刊中，反映当年摘引的全部出版物名称的辅助索引，称之为《工程出版物索引》（Publications Indexed for Engineering，简称PIE）。《PIE》从1977年开始出版，位置排在各年刊著者索引之前。到1987年，《PIE》被单独抽出，编成单行本。1988年后改名为《出版物一览表（Publication List，简称PL）》和《会议一览表》（Conference List，简称CL），列于主题索引之后。

    《PIE》的正文内容历年有些变化。1986年前后它主要由以下几部分内容构成：

    (1)连续出版物部分：这部分分成《缩写题名排序的连续出版物目录》（Serial Publications — Organized by Abbreviated Title），《刊名代码排序的连续出版物目录》（Serial Publications — Organized by CODEN），《新收录的连续出版物目录》（New Serial Publications），《有变更的连续出版物》（Changed Serial Publications）和《刊名参见一览表》（Cross References to Serial Publications）共五个目录。

    (2)会议出版物目录（Conference Publications）。

    (3)机构名称缩写、全称对照表(Aconyms Initials and Abbreviations of Organization Names)。

    (4)缩写、计量单位符号和略语表（Abbreviations，Units and Aconyms）。

    1988年以后的《PL》相当于《PLE》中的《缩写题名排序的连续出版物目录》，《CL》则相当于《PIE》中的《会议出版物目录》。由于实际使用中多半采用1988年以后出版的《PL》和《CL 》，所以原《PIE》中其余的内容这里介绍从略。
(1)《出版物一览表》（PL）
    《PL》以连续出版物的缩写题名字母为序给出《Ei》报道的全部期刊及其刊名代码。其著录格式示例如下：

    著录格式注释：

    ①连续出版物的缩写题名。这是本表编排顺序的依据。

    ②连续出版物的全称。

    ③连续出版物的计算机检索代码（1990年起代码后还列有该刊的ISSN号）。

    由上可见，《PL》是用以由文摘出处给出的刊名缩写查找期刊全称的主要辅助索引。在利用《Ei》查得一批相关文摘后，如果需要进一步获取原文，应先使用《PL》将刊名缩写还原成全称，再查馆藏目录。
(2)《会议一览表》（CL）

    《CL》以会议名称字母为序给出当年《Ei》报道的全部会议录名称、会议主办单位名称、会议举办地和时间以及该会议的《Ei》编号。

    《CL》的著录格式示例如下：

    ①会议名称。用黑体字印刷。本表以会议名称的英语字母顺序排列。

    ②会议主办单位。

    ③会议举办地、举办时间。

    ④会议录名称。

    ⑤出版机构名称。

    ⑥《Ei》会议编号。本编号可用在计算机联机或光盘检索时使用。
